Natalija Žalec, the mother of PLYA and recipient of the highest national award in education

On the eve of World Teachers’ Day, the highest national awards for outstanding work in education for 2024 were presented.

We are delighted and proud that our colleague Natalija Žalec is one of the eleven winners for her outstanding achievements in adult education.

Over the past 35 years, she has left an indelible mark in the efforts to empower young adults. The concept of the Centre for Young Adults, as she called it, has filled a neglected gap in education. In doing so, she laid the foundation for comprehensive andragogical treatment of young adults.
