Innovative learning environments – a new challenge or an ongoing one?
A peer learning activity focused on mutual learning around the theme of innovative learning environments brought together around 15 participants from nine countries to Budapest: Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Ireland, Latvia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Slovenia. We gathered as representatives of NSS EPALE and EAAL national coordinators, with some of us wearing both hats. This was also true for our kind host, NSS EPALE Hungary, which operates under the International Relations Unit of the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (NOVETAL). In their work, they are closely connected with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, making innovation a key guiding principle. They implement this across 41 centres and 371 vocational schools throughout the country, and notably, they adopt a broader approach to adult education.
This broader approach was also reflected in our event programme. The speakers included representatives from the National Institute for Culture, the Metropolitan Ervin Szabó Library, FabLab Budapest, two museums and one of their vocational secondary schools.
