We pursue various activities:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>we conduct comparative studies and research,<\/li>\n<li>we study and develop models and programmes for adults,<\/li>\n<li>we develop new approaches to the training of teachers and professionals,<\/li>\n<li>we study and develop new interactive materials for adults and professionals,<\/li>\n<li>we promote the area of literacy,<\/li>\n<li>we participate in international development and research projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Opis podro\u010dja&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;3.4.1&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Over the period of three decades, we have seen changes to the understanding of the adult literacy problem as well as the offer of programmes for adults and the approaches to the training of teachers. In addition to the developing practice in the area of adult literacy, our work was marked the most by two highly visible international surveys that we conducted under the auspices of the OECD. The first was the <strong>International Adult Literacy Survey \u2013 IALS (1997\u20132000) <\/strong>and the second was the <em><strong>Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies<\/strong><\/em><strong><em> \u2013 <\/em><\/strong><em><strong>PIAAC<\/strong><\/em> <strong>(2013\u20132015)<\/strong>, which showed that adults in Slovenia in their active stage of life between 16 and 65 years of age are below the international average in all measured areas of skills (literacy, numeracy and problem solving). It is estimated that more than 400,000 adults in Slovenia only attain the lowest level of literacy and numeracy skills which points to a mass phenomenon that requires a comprehensive approach.<\/p>\n<p>After 2000, we saw the development of the offer of officially recognised educational programmes for the development of literacy and basic abilities for various target groups of adults which maintain the common name: <strong>Training for Success in Life<\/strong> programmes. A separate <strong>study of the needs and characteristics of target groups <\/strong>was conducted for each individual programme. They were updated after 2012 based on the findings of the <strong>National Evaluation of Officially Recognised Programmes for Adults <\/strong>(2010\u20132011), which surveyed more 1,200 teachers, programme participants and practitioners. It is our assessment that the results of the national evaluation, which uncovered and explained the mechanisms in the model of programmes for vulnerable groups of adults, represent an original contribution to the profession of adult education.<\/p>\n<p>The development of the programmes and activities in the area of adult literacy to date indicates that we cannot expect significant shifts unless fundamental conditions are ensured: uniform development of a network of institutions and teachers as well as physical conditions for their quality work and professional development.<\/p>\n<p>Would you like to learn more about the area of adult literacy? It has unlocked a thousand doors for me to enter through.<\/p>\n<p class=\"author\">Ernest Carr<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Research,&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":161,"featured_media":0,"parent":28313,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_et_pb_use_builder":"on","_et_pb_old_content":"<div class=\"summary\">\r\n<div class=\"summaryIcon\">\r\n\t<img src=\"https:\/\/www.acs.si\/wp-content\/themes\/andragoski\/images\/icons\/icon_pismenost.svg\" alt=\"image\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n\t<p>Poglavitne aktivnosti na podro\u010dju pismenosti in temeljnih zmo\u017enosti odraslih: <\/p>\r\n\t<ul>\r\n\t\t<li>primerjalne \u0161tudije in raziskave,<\/li>\r\n\t\t<li>preu\u010devanje in razvoj modelov in programov za odrasle, <\/li>\r\n\t\t<li>razvoj novih pristopov in usposabljanje u\u010diteljev in strokovnih delavcev,<\/li>\r\n\t\t<li>preu\u010devanje in razvoj novih interaktivnih gradiv za odrasle in strokovne delavce,<\/li>\r\n\t\t<li>promocija podro\u010dja pismenosti,<\/li>\r\n\t\t<li>sodelovanje v mednarodnih razvojnih in raziskovalnih projektih.<\/li>\r\n\t<\/ul>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n<p>Raziskovalno, razvojno in izobra\u017eevalno delo na podro\u010dju pismenosti in temeljnih zmo\u017enosti odraslih je eno temeljnih podro\u010dij dela Andrago\u0161kega centra Slovenije od njegove ustanovitve dalje. V obdobju treh desetletij so se spreminjali tako razumevanje problematike pismenosti pri odraslih, kot tudi programska ponudba za odrasle in pristopi k usposabljanju u\u010diteljev. Zagotovo sta, poleg razvijajo\u010de se prakse na podro\u010dju pismenosti odraslih, podro\u010dje dela najbolj zaznamovali dve odmevni mednarodni raziskavi, ki smo jih izpeljali na Andrago\u0161kem centru Slovenije pod okriljem OECD. Prva je <strong>Mednarodna raziskava pismenosti odraslih IALS (1997-2000)<\/strong>, druga je <strong>Raziskava spretnosti odraslih PIAAC (2013-2015)<\/strong>, ki je pokazala, da so odrasli v aktivni dobi med 16 in 65 letom pod mednarodnim povpre\u010djem na vseh merjenih podro\u010djih spretnosti (besedilne, matemati\u010dne in re\u0161evanje problemov). Ocenjeno je, da ve\u010d kot 400.000 odraslih v Sloveniji dosega le najni\u017eje ravni besedilnih in matemati\u010dnih spretnosti, kar nakazuje, da gre za mno\u017ei\u010dni pojav, ki terja celovito delovanje.  <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Po letu 2000 se je razvila ponudba javnoveljavnih izobra\u017eevalnih programov za razvoj pismenosti in temeljnih zmo\u017enosti za razli\u010dne ciljne skupine odraslih, ki ohranja skupno ime programi <strong>Usposabljanje za \u017eivljenjsko uspe\u0161nost<\/strong>. Za vsak posamezni program, je bila opravljena posebna <strong>\u0161tudija potreb in zna\u010dilnosti ciljnih skupin<\/strong>. Programi so bili posodobljeni po letu 2012, na podlagi ugotovitev <strong>Nacionalne evalvacije javno veljavnih programov za odrasle (2010-2011)<\/strong>, ki je zajela ve\u010d kot 1200 u\u010diteljev, udele\u017eencev programov in izvajalcev. Nacionalna evalvacija je razkrila in pojasnila mehanizme v modelu programov za ranljive skupine odraslih, za katerega ocenjujemo, da je izviren prispevek andrago\u0161ki stroki.  <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Dosedanji razvoj programov in dejavnosti na podro\u010dju pismenosti odraslih ka\u017ee, da ni mogo\u010de pri\u010dakovati bistvenih premikov pri razvoju pismenosti odraslih, \u010de niso zagotovljeni temeljni pogoji, in sicer enakomeren razvoj omre\u017eja ustanov in u\u010diteljev ter materialni pogoji za njihovo kakovostno delovanje in strokovni razvoj.  <\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Ve\u010d o pismenosti odraslih: <a href=\"http:\/\/pismenost.acs.si\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/pismenost.acs.si<\/a><\/p>\r\n\r\n<div class=\"blockquote\">\r\n                        <p>Nepismenost je podobna svetu s samo enim vhodom, in ko vstopimo, ni tam ni\u010desar.
